When you ask me to design your website, my focus is on providing the very best client and user experience that i can. The success of your website is important to me and I work hard to deliver a site that will delight not just you, the client, but your website visitors, too. When you succeed, I succeed. That's the way I've always worked, and I always will.

I'm a one-man-band, working from my home office. I don't have massive overheads to pass onto my clients; no employees, no shareholders, no agents.

Yes, in the short term. Many companies attract clients by offering special offers, discounts and free trials but you have to build the website yourself, which takes time. Depending on your skill levels and ambition, you'll need to learn how their website builders work. Which takes time.

How much is your time worth?

Eventually, of course, these offers end and the fees go up. And you have to keep paying their fees every month, because if you don't your website disappears.

So really it comes down to how valuable your time is. Is it worth your time learning how to use a website builder, trawling through the templates to find one you like, getting the photos you need uploaded and put on the correct page, writing attractive, actionable content, and optimising the site so that Google doesn't penalise it in the search engines?

Well, in broad terms, I like to have a discovery session where I'll get to know your business, your business values, and how it operates. We'll discuss your target market as well as your target audience (i.e. clients and customers), where your business operates from and your social media accounts.

I'll then send you 3 website mockups from which you can choose the one you would like me to build. You are free to amend the designs, e.g. change the colours, add or remove sections or change the layout. Once we've agreed on the final design I'll start the actual build process.

I work on a deposit system where clients pay 30% of the total cost, which covers my initial expenses, such as registering your domain and setting up your hosting. It also provides a level of commitment to the project. The deposit is not refundable.

The remaining 70% will be payable when the website is launched.
